Sharon Aguilar-Zúñiga | Listening Session Mentor
I am from Mexico City and I studied Biology in the Faculty of Sciences at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). My thesis project was about participatory evaluation and monitoring of environmental services in Mexico City. I am deeply interested in oceans, seas, estuaries, lakes, and in general, the use of water as an environmental service. My vision as a scientist is to combine natural and social sciences to find integrative solutions to complex problems.
I am on my way to specialize my career in creating innovative and sustainable solutions to preserve marine biodiversity and its ecosystems, using an integrative approach to marine ecosystem management. My favorite Sustainable Development Goals are 5 and 14, and I feel really identified with the quote “Another world is possible. A world where many worlds fit”. |
