Rayna Sutherland | Program Coordinator
|
Hello friends! My name is Rayna, and I grew up and presently reside on the traditional and unceded Coast Salish territory, which includes the Tsawwassen First Nation, Musqueam First Nation and other Salishan language groups. I am passionate about justice-seeking research and mobilizing through anti-oppressive, feminist and decolonial community-based and action-oriented approaches. Presently, I work as a Research Coordinator at Resource Africa and am developing content for a Global Citizenship through English Program at the University of British Columbia. I am fortunate to have worked with grassroots environmental and social justice organizations and socially-just research hubs in Tanzania, South Africa and Canada across the thematic areas of food justice, gender-based justice, Indigenous land and resource rights and protected area policies, and Access and Benefit Sharing. I have an Honours Bachelors of Arts in International Development and Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of Toronto.
